Well...
I hope everyone is still alright back home with all this panic in the world. This past week was definitely a wild one! I got my new companion. His name is Elder Anderson. He's an awesome guy. We do a lot of driving, and a lot of the time we end up talking about college football or college basketball and all that good stuff. To be specific about how much driving we did last week, our car has accumulated over 1,700 miles and 30 hours of travel. It was a crazy week!
Since the U.S. banned travel from the U.K. and the rest of Europe recently, all senior couples, other than the couple who we have in the office, have returned home. As well, all young missionaries who have underlying health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, or high blood pressure have sadly returned home. Many of these missionaries who returned home have had a huge impact on me, and I feel so blessed to have known them and served with them. I hope they will all be able to come back out eventually.
Yesterday, was definitely a day that I'll never forget. I've been staying with Elder Hewitt in Redruth for the last few days. My companion had to drive Elder Hewitt's companion up to the mission home, because he had to go home due to health concerns, sadly. But anyways, we went to this lady's house who was recently baptized, and since church was cancelled we went to her house, along with a member of the Redruth bishopric, to confirm her a member of the church and have her receive the Holy Ghost. I had met this lady once before. Her name is Tasmin. She is a sweet lady. She couldn't decide who she wanted to confirm her, so she just started doing "eeneemeeneemineemo," and when she started doing that I had a strong feeling that it was gonna land on me so that I should probably get myself prepared. And sure enough, it was me who her finger pointed at. I was pretty nervous to confirm her since it was the first time I'd ever done it. Once I started, I felt comfortable and peaceful. I felt the spirit so strong. I was so grateful to have the opportunity to do that. Tasmin was crying afterwards so I know she felt the spirit, which made me really happy. It was just the most random thing because I was not expecting to wake up and go confirm someone. But it was awesome and I'm really grateful I had that opportunity.
My testimony on prophets and apostles has definitely been strengthened during this madness. It's just such a blessing to have leaders who prepare us for times like these and who can help us through these times. That's why they are doing what they are doing. God hasn't left us without any help. He has given us prophets to guide and direct us. I'm really excited to hear from these leaders during general conference. I invite you all to hear from them as well! I know that they speak the truth, and I promise you that their teachings will give you guidance and direction that will lead you to safety and peace. I hope you all are doing well!
Love you all!
Elder Wray
